Youth In MissionThe Youth In Mission (YIM) program provides young people an opportunity to serve others in areas that experience disadvantage, isolation, discrimination and a range of other challenges. At the same time, there are great opportunities to impact the lives of these individuals, families, communities, in a cross-cultural context. Past YIM teams have visited Thailand, Fiji and YIM was involved with the Sydney 2000 Olympics. YIM teams have also visited various areas in Australia.
To find out more information about YIM you can visit the Global YIM site or contact your local church. You can find your local church at the Australian Nazarene Churches Web Portal. 2006 YIM ANZHi guys! This is long overdue, but greetings from YIM ANZ. We're almost halfway through the year already! Our annual Cross Cultural Orientation "went off", as they say, and we had a HUGE representation of high schoolers, mainly from Brisbane (Logan, Tweed, Inala), and a few others from here and there. You guys will benefit HEAPS from your involvement in that event, as you gain a better awareness of living out your faith in a cross-cultural environment. And, because of that your churches and communities will also be different ... because you are different! Thanks for your involvement ... it was AWESOME! Well, due to the fact that we're a little behind the eight ball (read: S.L.O.W.), we have extended the deadline for this year's YIM ANZ applications to Fri June 16th, 2006. Please download the application form here ... and submit it to your District YIM Co-ordinator. You will also need to have the completed Pastors recommendation submitted directly by your pastor. The sites will be finalised on the basis of the number of successful applicants. These may include the following locations: Dili/East Timor, Maetang/Thailand, Manila/Philippines, Saipan/Micronesia. Please contact us if you would like more information. ANZ Field CCO 2006
