The Justice Movement is a collective voice for justice and compassion in the world, activated by providing a curriculum that can be used in the local church. We are seeking a representative to promote this and engage young people across the ANZ Field.

The Justice Movement

The Justice Movement is a partnership between Nazarene Compassionate Ministries and Nazarene Youth International which seeks to be a collective voice for justice and compassion in the world. The Movement is made of kids, students, young adults, families and churches who believe they can make a difference in our world.

The ANZ Field is looking for someone who can represent and promote the Justice Movement by engaging leaders on our districts and in local churches. The Justice Movement is not just a series of fundraisers or campaigns - it also engages young people to live a life of compassion by providing a curriculum that can be used in the local church.

We are looking for someone who is deeply devoted to Christ and the Church. You need to be a self motivated, creative person with excellent communication skills. A wiz of the various channels of social media as well as being able to communicate clearly via the written word and also being able to speak to the various levels of participants involved.

You need to be passionate about serving others and also passionate about living a life of compassion.

Is the following a rallying cry you can get behind and lead others in:

Do you know what we want?

We want justice—oceans of it.

We want fairness—rivers of it.

That is all we want.

– Amos 5:24, The Message

If you think this is you, please read this before you go any further: http://www.justicemovement.com/become-an-advocate.html
If you think that applies to you, please reply to the following statements via email to cambatkin@nazarene.org.au:

  1. In a paragraph or two please describe your testimony.
  2. Describe briefly how you are living a life of compassion that has a positive impact on others.
  3. Check out the resources at http://www.justicemovement.com/resources.html#leaders-guide and let us know 2 things you would do to contextualise this across the ANZ Field.
  4. Social media is an important modern communication tool. Please list your social media accounts, including your social media handles, and give a brief paragraph explaining your level of familiarity in using social media.

The role is a volunteer one and we anticipate commitment of a few hours a week to keep the Justice Movement moving across the field. The successful candidate will receive ongoing training from Brooklyn Lindsey (Global Justice Movement Advocate) and mentoring from Rev. David Harris (ANZ Field NCM Representative) and Cameron Batkin (ANZ Field Youth Coordinator).

Applications close on the seventh of October via email to cambatkin@nazarene.org.au.
